SKIPTON members of the campaign group 38 Degrees gave their support to the young doctors’ protest in Leeds last Wednesday night.
Around 3,000 people descended on Victoria Garden to voice their opposition to proposed changes to the contracts of junior doctors, which could be imposed next August.
And, on Saturday, a talk and workshop will be held at Shipley College’s Salt Building, on Victoria Road, aimed at individuals and groups who want to campaign effectively for the NHS.
“If the future of the NHS concerns you, then you should come to this meeting,” said local 38 Degree member Vivien Dawson. “Knowledge is paramount to our campaigning and this meeting will give us that and will be the launchpad for a new co-ordinated campaign across Yorkshire and possibly beyond.”
The event runs from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and all are welcome.
